Austin Country Club

 Austin Country Club

Austin Country Club is hands down one of the coolest golf courses I have ever played. A lot of people know that Austin Country Club is the host of the Dell Technologies Match Play Tournament which is a professional golf tournament put on by the World Golf Championships in conjunction with the PGA Tour. This is such a great place to play this tournament as it is a great match-play course. And what I mean by that is this course provides so many holes that we golfers call "risk or reward" holes because you can either do very well on the hole by risking it or you can fall apart on a hole by risking it.

ACC is always kept in such good condition and it is obviously up to PGA Tour standards if they have an event there. The course is usually a beautifully lush color of green and everything on the course is there for a reason from the rocks to trees not one thing is out of place out there. Similar to last week's course the golf course has two polar opposite front and back nines. The front nine is the definition of the "Texas Hill Country" and is someone hilly with trees all around. A couple of holes on the front nine have big ravines and valleys that you have to cover to be able to hit the green or make it to the fairway. Now the back nine is right along Lake Austin like the photo above and has the picture-perfect 360 bridge in the background.

The practice area is superb and allows beginner golf to learn and get better while more advanced golfers can hone their skills and get even better. The practice area is kept in a similar shape to the course so it allows elite players and professionals to be able to prepare for the day. The putting green sets up right next to the tenth hole as well so you can see players coming through the front nine and see them tee off on hole 10.

Finally, the clubhouse is very beautiful and more modern for such a classy golf course that is Austin Country Club. It has a very nice pro shop and locker room and very nice dining areas with really good food.

Would definitely recommend making a trip down to Austin to either play the course or watch the tournament that happens in March.
