Spanish Oaks Golf Club
Spanish Oaks Golf Club
The next course I will talk about on the blog is Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Austin, TX. This is the course I grew up on and what really gave me a love for golf courses at a young age. This is by far one of the most fun golf courses I have played with the way that it is designed. The course is set up for difficult tee shots to the eye, but if you can place it in the fairway and see the whole for the way that it is then you can score well and compete out there. A lot of the holes require you to be creative off the tee and see the whole not only for what it is, but what it can be. This is because the holes out there can be played from various spots on the hole and there is no one way to get it right. On top of the off-the-tee shots, the par 3's are designed to perfection and have such a beautiful layout with most of them having water to cover to get to the green. The course is almost always kept in superb championship condition.
The practice facilities are also incredible with the wedge facility being the highlight. The wedge facility provides players the opportunity to practice close to full wedges and anything shorter to replicate shots you will play on the course. The range has 2 sides so you can choose where to hit from depending on what wind you like practicing in.
Last, but not least, the amenities. The staff and the way the club runs are at an elite level. There are what we call in the golf world, halfway houses, on the course that is packed with food and drinks and anything you need to fuel up. They also have incredible service with staff working around the clock to make sure you have a great experience and they make you want to come back.
