Great Waters Golf Course 


The first golf course on the list of "10 Best Golf Courses I have Played" belongs to Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee. This course is located in Eatonton, Georgia on beautiful Lake Oconee. There are multiple courses on the property, but the Greater Waters Golf Course is the one I had the pleasure of playing. The course is absolutely phenomenal. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it has beautiful green fairways and clean-cut greens. The course is surrounded by the lake and towering trees that line the holes. The front nine and back nine are polar opposite scenic routes that create a sense of two different golf courses. The front nine is mostly tree-lined with no sight of the lake until the 9th hole which is directly behind the green and runs for miles. The back nine has the lake in view or in play on almost every single hole. Many of the holes on the back nine require you to play a shot over water with the waves crashing up onto the sides of the course due to the wind.

The practice facilities at Great Waters Golf Course are superb and are kept in the best condition possible. The range is taken care of in the same way the fairways and tee boxes in the course are taken care of making it easy to transition from practice to the actual course. The practice putting green is kept in incredible condition as well with the greens running at about an 11 or 12 on the stimpmeter. The contours of the putting green make it so that you can easily prepare for the course and all that the greens have to offer you that day. 

Lastly, the amenities and clubhouse are a great addition to the course. The clubhouse is smaller than most big named golf courses but adds to the feel of the golf course. It is older fashioned because the course was designed in the 1990s and has been open since 1992. This adds that little extra detail to the course and allows you to become fully emersed in the history of the club with the pictures of famous golfers such as the designer Jack Nicklaus.

On top of the off-the-tee shots, the par 3's are designed to perfection and have such a beautiful layout with most of them having water to cover to get to the green.  The Plantation Golf Club The Plantation Golf Club     The Plantation Golf Club is located in La Quinta, California. This is one of the coolest experiences I have ever had at a golf course. This golf is an all-men's club so it is very exclusive and a lot of celebrities have played it. Michael Jordan and Phil Mickelson are 2 famous names to have played and Phil even has the course record. The coolest part about the course though, other than how pretty it is, is that they don't want anybody using their phones a lot out there and it is all about experiencing the course for yourself.     The course itself is a magnificent work of art and is a phenomenal example of architectural design. It is lined by palm trees on nearly every single hole and multiple holes that provide risk-reward shots over water making it inviting, but dangerous at the same time to go for it.
